History
What is Epoxy Resin?
Epoxy resin is a thermosetting polymer, which changes from a liquid to a solid state when mixed with a hardener or catalyst generating a chemical reaction.
Its main characteristic is its hardness and brightness, with which we make different types of works, exploiting a unique art where there is no limit to our imagination. The epoxy resin has different types of uses, as unions, adhesives and coatings, can be applied on different surfaces, accident prevention because it is not electrically conductive, construction of molds, crafts, etc.
The first experiments were carried out in 1947, when the first types of resin were produced after different chemical tests. It should be noted that, like any industrial product, it takes time to reach a good chemical composition, which it already has today. The most commonly used epoxy resin is a mixture of bisphenol A and epichlorohorin.
